Utah Receives Top Honors in Government Information Technology

Utah’s state government is once again being recognized for outstanding efforts in information technology. Over the past two years, the state has advanced major technological initiatives to better serve Utah residents, including launching MyUtah (myutah.gov)—a centralized portal providing single sign-on access to state services—and establishing a pioneering state-endorsed digital identity (SEDI) framework. Additionally, the state expanded its whole-of-state cybersecurity initiative to protect over 140 local government entities, and modernized critical public safety and health systems.

The Center for Digital Government awarded Utah a fourth consecutive “A” grade in its Digital States Survey. Conducted every two years, the survey evaluates states’ use of technology to improve service delivery, increase capacity, streamline operations, and reach policy goals. Utah is one of eleven states that achieved an “A” grade in 2026, reflecting its innovative technology solutions across operations, governance, and administration. See the full report here.

Utah also received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Center for Digital Government for exemplary work in Artificial Intelligence, in recognition of the responsible exploration, implementation, and governance of artificial intelligence to improve operational efficiency, and advance data-informed constituent services. This includes the deployment of enterprise AI tools to state employees, and launching an internal “AI Factory” to streamline exploration and provide guardrails for AI adoption.

Additionally, Utah received several recognitions in the 2026 National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) State IT Recognition Awards program which honors technology innovation and excellence in state government. These projects showcase the state’s use of technology to address critical business problems, better connect citizens to their government, improve processes, and create new opportunities that improve the lives of residents.
